BIOGRAPHY
My name is Kat and my photography is often described as “slowed down”, intensive moments. I like minimalism when it comes to equipment and love shooting digitally but also cherish shooting and processing analog photos.
“Portrait Diaries” is my personal charity magazine, a project that came to life in 2019. Photographs and poetry; deeply intertwined. To show people and their emotions as they are - to become art. In my opinion a print magazine is the best medium to publish this art.

PORTFOLIO ABSTRACT
What moves you? A question so simple yet so difficult to answer. It takes time to think about it. I consider it something that can’t be described in words only, rather in photographs and poems. Images and ideas that emerge from working with personalities and from a bond that evolves in photoshoots. I portrait mainly male personalities. As a female photographer it was a new and challenging experience at first but with my style maturing I enjoy capturing the vulnerable side of masculinity and embrace every opportunity to go deeper
“Portrait Diaries” is my personal charity magazine, a project that came to life in 2019. Photographs and poetry; deeply intertwined. To show people and their emotions as they are - to become art. In my opinion a print magazine is the best medium to publish this art. With the global pandemic starting I had to pause my work on the magazine. I am excited to start again and already in the middle of planning and sketching ideas for upcoming shoots - concept, design, visualization, helpful skills I developed in my years as a UX/UI Designer.
I portrait mainly male personalities. As a female photographer it was a new and challenging experience at first but with my style maturing I enjoy capturing the vulnerable side of masculinity and embrace every opportunity to go deeper.Portrait Diaries is all about deep and true emotions. It celebrates the flaws and sees beneath the surface. There’s no space for superficiality. The portraits are soft and emotional contrary to what society would consider “manly”.
The idea for the magazine arised from my found passion for portraits of men and their vulnerable side, as well as my wish to slow down and go a different way. It was important for me to see my photos printed so that I could hold them in my hands and give them to other people, making each photo even more emotional by being able to touch it. The first 3 issues have been printed and hand-sewn by me, as I wanted to be involved in the whole process. This included endless nights of printing, cutting and sewing magazines just to ship them in time.
